This Thursday, August 6th, the Foreign Executive Women (FEW) of Tokyo organized a Beers for Books night at Suji’s American restaurant in Roppongi. 100 yen was donated for every drink bought at the event. This Tuesday, we trekked to Harajuku to bring you an inside look at Danny Choo’s Tokyo Figure Show on the 9th floor of the H&M Building. This figure exhibit opened on August 4th and will be on display each day through August 9th from 1pm-6pm. Figures displayed are from the Good Smile Company, and the exhibit features the newly-completed Danny Choo mascot figure, Mirai Figma.
The view from the 8th and 9th floor of the H&M building at the Tokyo Figure Show is truly amazing, and it’s a nice way to cool off from the summer heat with free air conditioning, a posh place to relax, and free Vitamin Water courtesy of Glaceau. Danny’s show is actually the 4th in a series of 6 weekly exhibits taking place at the H&M Building while promoting Vitamin Water sales. If you are in Japan, you should be able to buy 5 flavors of Vitamin Water in select Sunkus, 7/11, pharmacies, and vending machines as of the 4th of August.

Wonder Festival 2009

This was Tokyo VR Studio’s first year at Wonder Festival 2009. We had a great time sitting in the Gainax Otaku room, oogling over the many custom ‘garage kit’ figures, listening to the live musical performances and running away from Gloomy Bear. (The camera equipment slowed us down, and we just bear-ly made it away with our lives. Ha, ha, ha… -_-;) Below are some panoramas from Wonder Festival 2009 dedicated to those who couldn’t come to Japan, couldn’t make it out to Makuhari Messe, or anyone who passed out from heat exhaustion or gave up on the 2-hour wait to get into the event. Enjoy ^^
P.S. Still-picture post to follow!
